Blast from the past

Been going through some of my early digital photographs and note this one, taken many years ago, around 2003.

We've probably seen it before, but it's sort of interesting.

What other interesting pics from your early days of digital pics can you share?

Max Hedges 20-06-11 13:10

Keith you're correct in that it is the real stuff not that imitation thing. It's a good thing Max has been eating the stuff for so many years as it has kept him young looking compared to what he would normally look. The only changes over the years are that Max has less hair, more grey hairs, more wrinkles but other wise he's not that much older looking. I'd even forgot I had that dinner set.

Strange dietary habits in Australia....

Half cooked bacon...... partly cooked eggs covered in virgin synthetic motor oil......

Good Canadian maple wood smoked bacon is cooked crisp...... eggs whipped with heavy cream and scrambled in fresh butter with a pnch of salt and frsh groudn pepper....and the maple "surpull" is used to dip you fresh toasted whole wheat buttered bread........ et voila !!!!! instant cholesterol fix.

....a small side dish of salt pork beans goes well with that combination.

For the wine some good quality simulated champagne mixed 50/50 with fresh squeezed orange juice......

....strange ....I am hungry all of a sudden.....

Bob

Hey Robert,
Not a bad Staff Car. It is not getting much use at the moment as the owner is in the Mercy Private Hospital, East Melbourne, having his back rebuilt for the 6th. time. Still smiling most of the time though.
Rick.

Bob, That photo was taken about 1985 when I had torn the muscles off my right arm in a work accident. I wasn't able to move it at all for 6 months. Didn't stop me from driving Glen Stones C15A with no doors though. The Cab 12 was Bruce Whiltshires with a 2pdr in the back.
Memories, Memories!.

Thanks for your get well wishes, Bob. Things can only improve from here on. Regards Rick.

Amazing, Richard I didn,t know the existance of the first pic as it shows my neighbour who served with Pathfinder Flight at Bedford and was in the UK in 94 and passed away not long after, the rest we know involves your very sharp eye and knowledge of CMP,s. Memories! . thanks.

Thanks Bob,

Just to let everyone in on this. Bob brought two Chev Blitzs to the UK in 1994 to take part in the MVT tour of Normandy. The first photo also shows Dave Mottram's Studebaker which he also brought over. As a consequence of talking to Dave later that year at Beltring, I took part in the Back To The Track event across Australia in 1995. This led on to attend the Corowa Swim-In in 1996, I travelled down with Dave Brown and Jan Thompson in the Land Rover. We had arranged to meet friends at Cowra and stop the night before travelling on. When we arrived in town there was a parade going on and when I saw the Blitz, I could not believe my eyes, it was Bob driving his Chev. We met up later as Bob shows in his photo, outside the local museum. It makes you realise what a small world this is.
