A sad note to anyone who new Don Valis. Sadly he passed away

Hi all - heard the news this morning, very sad. I met Don about four or five years ago at Corowa and nobody knew him other than he was buying up big and was generous with his money. He never quibbled about price. In the ensuing time he amassed a great collection of armour, trucks and smaller softskins as well as stores. He built a huge shed to house these vehicles and really enjoyed his hobby. Carol was very supportive and also got stuck into helping Don. I used to take selected people on field trips to his property as this was an amazing collection and Don and Carol used to greet these people with open arms.

I will miss Don and the discussions and banter we used to partake in.

Goodbye old buddy - Bob

I'm really shocked about Don's passing. I met him last May when Salesman Bob took me on a 2 day field trip around Adelaide. He had a wonderful & big collection and was very friendly in the good old Aussie style showing us all the things he had and even shared with me some parts/accessories for my Blitz.

My deepest condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Don :remember

51 is too young for anyone. Don had a big vision, but it was not to be. It was always a pleasure to meet Don and we will miss him.

A number of us will definitely think back to Corowa 2010 when Don and Carol had their tent sight flooded and waited to the last minute before relocating. I wll send an email to other clubs and ask them to put some information in their newsletters. If possible could someone please forward me some more information.

He was a top bloke and such a strong brute of a man, I have still got a sore hand from the last hand shake in 2010.
