Hi Cdressel..
Do you have a name..like Charlie(already taken by Charlie Fitten,Carrier geek,extraordinaire)..or Clive(Already taken by Clive Law,publisher and scribe of all things greasy, green, rusty,or combination of some or all)..
But where in Ontario are you..If in the south, west north or East there are lots of willing carrier experts to give you some help..
Put your real name, like the rest of us and our home town in our posting headed(Profile).
Welcome aboard..Great carrier, and I am looking forward to watching your progress,as we all are as you post your progress here.
If you are in the Ottawa area ,we have a great big gather up and Grace O'Mallys (East end)Ogilvy Rd,bar and grill(Drinking optional) on Friday night ,5th November at 17:00or 5PM
Come and meet many like minded friends.
()Goes for anyone reading this in the area.
Open to all.

Hello Alex,
Let me introduce my self. My name is Carl Dressel I live in southern Ontario, Port Colborne. Thanks for the invite but I it is a little far

c dressel 05-11-10 10:19

Thanks Richard Looking forward to the restore

c dressel 05-11-10 10:30

Hello Guillaume,
It is in good shape, had it undercover for a few years now

RichardT10829 05-11-10 11:38

forgot to say i have schematics for side armour however some of the boys over there are running a scan and cut facility so you get the plates all cut and drilled.

the drilling takes absolutely ages to do too.

c dressel 05-11-10 11:51

Thanks Richard,
I would be interested in the schematics,I see on your sig line you have a lower hull # where do I get this any Ideas on how to reasearch the history of this unit

RichardT10829 05-11-10 12:43

right the lower hull number is located on the rear gunners side track guard on the angle bar that holds the rear armour on. your wd number (pending on age of the carrier) is located on the top of the front section of armour infront of the driver, but i see you have this already.

c dressel 06-11-10 14:18

Thanks I will try to locate the number today

Alex Blair (RIP) 06-11-10 19:42

Thanks

Thanks Carl..
Nice to meet you..We had a great time last night..
Four of the best carrier men around lives close to you..
Stewart Loy..Woodstock
Jordan Baker ..Hamilton
Charlie Fitton..Maryhill,On(Outside Guelph)
Bruce Parker...who is probably dodging the bill collectors(LOL) ,and only lists his home as (South West Ontario)..
One or all of these guys could probably rebuild your carrier blindfolded..They "Bin there, done that",and I have seen the end results..fabulous..so you came to the right place and I know for a fact that all these guys are fueled on beer and pizza and as long as you keep it cold and hot they won't leave you alone..
Keep the pictures coming and I sure one or all of these guys will be in touch with you this year..
Nice carrier.
Alex Blair

Richard,
Thanks for the advice on the location of the lower hull number. I FOUND IT LOL 9233 with what looks like a circle with a line running through it at the end, I dont know if this is part of it
Thanks again
Carl

RichardT10829 07-11-10 15:46

Carl try taking a photo of it using macro setting on your camera, you can usually get good images of the digits.

Bruce Parker (RIP) 07-11-10 17:06

Getting here is simple really. Just go to Kitchener, turn right until you get to Owen Sound. Turn left, then left again at Windsor. I'm the first carrier on the right....but of course you have to get past, through, around or over Toronto first.
