I have a couple of extras kicking around if you still need one.

Come to think of it - brand new ones are also available from DeBella Jeep Parts in (I think) New Jersey. $98 at debellajeepparts.com.

Trying to figure out what a 1963 M170 looks like...? is that like a stretched CJ body......

There is a Cdn military CJ 7 available for sale here.... runner, 4 cylinders, I beleive only a few of those where purchased by DND..... others can jump in on the CDN model details as my info is second hand.

The CJ7 was a commercial off the dealer's lot interim vehicle between the M151 and M38A1, and the Iltis, circa 1982. It is 12volt with a jeezly big 24volt inverter in the back end to power the RT524 radio. They were flat 'fleet' colour green with black wheel flares and a rollbar. Better on the road than the predecessors, but not quite a military Jeep ... Where is this bad boy being listed?

All the Interim CJ7s I ever saw in Cdn service were 6 cylinder. I don't even recall a 4 cylinder in the AMC CJ7s, just inline 6 and V8 engines.

I would describe the m170 as a stretch M38A1. I haven't driven one to speak first hand but think they had a reputation for being less stable in roll than the M38A1. Perhaps this was because the longer wheelbase made them more stable in pitch and gave a false sense of confidence?
