Selling a rare and original WW2 Army tank manual for the M4A1 Sherman. B.S.D.-TK-M4A1 (M)

It is titled: Ordnance Field Service, Base Shop Data, Tank, Medium, M4A1, with Continental engine.

Rock Island Arsenal - Feb 1943.

Reprinted for distribution to the British Forces by British Army Staff, North America, June, 1944.

It's condition would be classed as excellent. NOS really, all pages are intact and clean, only some light scuffing on the cover including a scratch 6cm long that does not cut through the cover.

Book dimensions are 18cm wide, by 22cm high. It is 8cm thick! It's a big book. Draw string is in great condition and intact. Covers all you need to know about pulling the tank down or back together again.

Included at the rear of the manual is a separate Base Shop Data entitled, Auxiliary Generator, Rock Island Arsenal - Dec 1942. Reprinted once again as above June 1944 for use by British Forces.

Weight is 1.74kg.

The Base Shop Data series are really excellent manuals. A version also exists for the M3A1 White Scout Car (which I reproduced years ago; the M4A1 was too big to make an economical reproduction). I have heard that there also was a volume for either the M3 or M5 series of Stuart tanks. Other books manuals have been produced for more US-produced WW2 vehicles that were procured by the British Army.
They are provide extremely practical and detailed line drawings of the procedures for a complete rebuild of the vehicle. The drawings appear to have been done by talented artists while observing an actual rebuilt process.
If anyone has more information about other books in this series I would be very interested to hear more details.

Yes there is definatly one covering the M3 stuart light tank in a 3 book set. I have been lucky enough to have the 3 books to go with my M3 Stuart Hybrid.
