Morris LRC Rims & Tyres

Looking for both Rims and Tyres for a Morris LRC. Size is listed as 9 x 16. Current there are 2 orginal rims ( 8 bolt pattern for the 2 part rim) and 2 ferret rims( we suspect) as they have 16 bolt pattern on the 2 part rim.

I will get more info on the rims as i can.

Cheers,
David

Yes, if that's one of my old LRC as purchased from Shaun Hindle then two of the rims are from a ferret. It should be on standard British 900X16 split rims same as a CMP 15CWT or a WOT2 or almost any other British 15CWT. Is it still in UK? if so I'll try and find you some rims if you want. Good luck with it, Alex.

Aren't Morris LRC rims 5 stud - so not the same as 15cwt wheels?

My memory is that they are basically the same as Humber 4x4 wheels - although, depending on the offset and size of brake drums, the rim bolts may have to be taken out and reset from the other side.

The MK1 4X2 Morris lrc has a five stud wheel, but not the same as a Humber, The MK2 which is FWD has similar running gear (but not the same as) a Morris quad, this has a standard British 15CWT 900X16 rim.

You can fit a Ferret rim to the Morris MK2 axle but they are rather tight over the drums and, as when you fit ferret rims to a WOT2 front axle, they foul slightly on the steering drag link arms. It can be worth fitting Ferret rims and Dodge tyres with the beads ground away to the Morris's or any other WW2 vehicle with British 15CWT rims as they weigh much less and give better fuel mileage and better speed. As the Morris LRC's are so slow any improvement is worth while if you are using them in modern traffic.....this I know from experience driving one round London!

The Humber LRC, Box, Ambulance, and 4X4 PU have a wheel which is unique to that particular Humber chassis.
