Fuel Cocks or Taps

Here are some carrier fuel change over taps. Who knows from what. I have no idea.

taps is taps

Hi LYnn.

The tap in the second image from left - does it by any chance have a small hole in the handle ?

The Scout Carrier would have originally had something that looked like that and matched the marking on the Ahrens control I guess. I am also guessing it would have to have been a reasonably long handle for the bourden cable to obtain enough leverage.

I have a choice between bedford RL, Landrover, CMP and LP2 carrier taps - each different in design - and can adapt one for the job (they are well hidden inside the engine covers anyway) but thanks for posting up the comparison shots.

Cheers

Phill

Not as far as I can tell, but a drill is easier to find than the scout fuel valve ( mind you, you seem very lucky in digging in the dirt, and finding what you just thought of) :note:

Hmmm

I think you're right Lynn I don't mind modifying a more common part that can easily be replaced.

Did you know that some of my best finds are made using a divining rod? and in the last hour before dark ?

I can't offer any explanation for how it works - it just does !

Cheers :confused
