Carrier Bogie Wheels
1 Attachment(s)
Nigel W. Im not sue where this picture came from, but if i have the number correct it is T276894, which according to Nigel Watsons book Was built by Sentinel Wagon as a UC,No1 MkII (WT) What is the WT?
I thought these were Loyd carrier wheels, which I had not seen in the flesh, until I visited Nigel W. last month. The other thing, is that I would have expected them to be fitted the other way around (with the dish out) The ones I have seen on Loyds are fitted the same way as pictured. |
At the end if the day the Loyd was a cheap parts bin lash-up, you can imagine Vivian and the other guys sitting around the drawing board and coming up with the original idea! We will buy everything in and then knock up a sheet steel tub, job done
The parts book gives a good idea of this approach: Loyd special parts include the cross shafts and rear axle, controls and body. Everything else was taken from the standard Bren Carrier parts book, this was good in the field as all the wearing parts were common with the UC. |
