Falkland Island carriers
2 Attachment(s)
Wheels & Tracks magazine #27 mentions that carriers were used by the Falkland Island garrison and defence force for many years, where they were no doubt eminantly suitable. In 1989 I photographed the bones of this example at Bluff Cove (sorry, I didn't make a note of the hull number). But I'm sure I've read that better examples have been 'liberated' since the war in 1982. Any better details anyone?

At lease one example came back to the UK courtesy of the Captain of a RFA Ship.
I saw it probably 15 years ago when it was up for sale in Wiltshire. |
And I bought a Transit van full of ex Falklands carrier spares from a film props company. Mostly all used or sold now. Ron
