Bob Dimer. (Western Australia) R.I.P.
It is with regret that I advise the passing of Bob Dimer from Western Australia.
Bob , unfortunately suffered a brain tumor and passed away on 17th July 2010. Bob was an avid collector and restorer of military vehicle and was always ready to assist everyone who may have needed help or advice. I first met Bob during the first Trackers Trek, 'Back to the Track' in 1995. He and Jenny were traveling in a FWD HAR01. Later he organized the Trackers Trek across the Gunbarrel Highway to Alice Springs from Perth and up the WA coast. Our thoughts go out to Jenny and the family at this sad time. Rick Cove |
His funeral will be held on Monday 26th July at 3pm in the West Chapel of the Fremantle Cemetery, WA.

Bob Dimer
Hi all - very sad news. I met Bob a couple of times and spoke to him over the telephone numerous times. He had some unique vehicles in his possession but sadly now he cannot restore them. Our condolences to Jenny and the family. Will be sadly missed.

Legend
I had the pleasure of knowing Bob well for the past decade and he will definately be sadly missed by many in our game.
Bob was arguably the backbone of the VCC WA Military Section and he made a huge contribution to the hobby, especially when rare, unusual and one off examples of vehicles were concerned. Through Bob's never ending efforts we have a solid Military Vehicle Preservation Movement here in WA, as well as some extremely rare and exotic vehicles and equipment. I have quite a few good stories of things which happened on club trips and events concerning Bob and we in the West will continue to perpetuate his legacy over a fireside beers.:remember Phill |
