1 1/2 spanner for wheel nuts.
Many years ago I bought this spaner at Corowa. I was told it was a carrier spaner It has part #ADD 1592 and 106 under a broad arrow stamped on it. Many carrier parts have similar markings. The handle end is about 4 inches too long for the toolrack, the diamater of the handle is a tight fit in the bracket on the toolrack. I will be interested to read any comments before I cut the handle. Thanking you John.

I dont know the answer, but dont cut it. It has to be for one of the carriers. Talk to colin Jones. He has most of the variations of Aust. carriers.
In the MG. 2pounder.and 3' Mortar wksp. manual, in the end of track section, there is a mod.The mod alows for a longer shaft, but not a longer handle. This mod also required a mod to the position of the bracket on the carrier tool board. Maybe you spanner is for; the 2 pounder, the mortar carrier, the LP3, or the tracked carrier, and may just be a rare item. my 2 cents worth. |
Thank you for your comments. it will take some time to post a photo so here are some measurements, Length of handle 19 1/2 length of shaft 14 5/8 diamater 1 1/8 . It wont get cut for a while , Regards John,

I've found another wheel spanner that I bought many years ago which fits the back of the carrier perfectly. It is now mounted! The first spanner is now available if anyone wants it.
