15cwt G.S.

Found the below picture while I was looking for something else and if I'm not totally blind, it's the remains of a 15cwt G.S. and not what the caption reads, which is: a file of Canadian infantry marches past the wreckage of German vehicles near Rimini.

Cheers :)

A restorer's opportunity!

Looks like a Ford to me too - interesting to see how the whole roof has been blown off and the fierce fire which has softened the springs and bent them the wrong way... ouch!
Still, I've seen some almost as bad collected for parts...

Heat damage

You will love the photos of the trucks damaged by heat and fire in the Southampton Plant 30 November-1 December 1940. So tragic! That said I did find out that the RCAOC drove down from Bordon and saved many trucks that were outside, with the raging inferno inside and used extinguishers to try and put out the fire. As much as possible was saved, and as many parts as possible were saved.

Captured when?

France 1940 if #11 Cab? Or more likely N Africa, 1941 - onwards, # 11 or # 12.

David, it's a #13 cab. According to the caption quoted by Mark the pictures depicts the wreckage of German (sic!) vehicles near Rimini, which would date the picture around August 1944 (ref. The Road to Rimini).

N Africa captured?

Captured in North Africa then?

Wrong header

David

May be as simple as the wrong header to the photo, leader writers didn't and still don't know much about trucks

AAAAhhh

...but if they were in de facto German possession having been captured, they were 'German'! I wonder if the re-captured vehicles were salvaged? Seeing photos of wrecks awaiting rebuild in England suggests to me that they were, or at least stripped for parts.
