any dodgy spiders in Canada ?
ok just been working on the beast, took the asbestos heat sheilds off as they were breaking up.
noticed a large hive of baby spider's thousands of them tiny little orange/yellow with small black spot on the tails, i have killed the ones i have found, anything or any types of spider i should be aware of ? as where i live is the same distance to the equator (roughly) as Ontario it is feasable that animals could survive at both locations.......eurgh iam all itchy thinking about it now hahhahahah Rich |
The little spiders seem to like my UC also. No idea as to if they are the same but we don't really have many poison realted bugs in our parts. Now if the UC had come from Aussie land............

Coming from Canada, the odds are that a spider bite won't be fatal anyway. Likely just a little irritation but maybe they got there on the ride over to your side of the pond.

ANYTHING with more than four legs and fur is "dodgy"...
Quite seriously, those sound harmless. If you want some really BIG spiders, we could ship you over some, though... Ontario dock spiders come to mind. They'll chase you even into the water, and some grow as big as your hand. When I was a kid we used to hunt them with .22s... :) |
hahahaha well thanks guys i am freaked out now, was working on her last night, every time i dropped a nut i would not put my hand anywhere i could not see hahahaha what a whimp i am :D

Our Canadian spiders are not to be feared, but the snow snakes, when found, are reported as being deadly.

Ditto on the poisonous fauna. Generally, anything that will kill you is bigger than a human, and is taught to Canadian children from an early age (three species of bears, moose, walrus, bison, mountain lions, horses, bulls, ... ).
The only poisonous native snake in Eastern Canada is the Massassauga Rattler, which is very scarce. From time to time people get bitten by critters that come north in imported crates of fruit or bananas. http://pestcontrolcanada.com/INSECTS/spiders.htm But you know, Sasquatch has a well-earned reputation for stealing hubcaps, peeing in gas tanks, smashing porch lights and scattering garbage cans. I've never seen one, but the old-timers told me all about them when I was a little boy. |
