Dodge query
Quote:
In fact the number has a larger 1 0 and 6 and 2920, as though the stamper used digits from a different set. I have some pix and think it's a D60L, but I am no expert. It has rhd. However, there was no Dodge supplied under SM 2920...that Demand related to a British Chevrolet CC60L/X2 and in fact the number is a chassis number 3154303868! It's off a 1943 Model 1543. |
I think you will find that it is a Chev chassis and running gear with a Dodge body fitted as he says it had a GMC 6 cly. which was replaced by a diesel. Any chance of posting the photos David?

So what is the nature of your query, David? You have the pics but don't know how to post them? :D
It seems from what the owner has said that the chassis numbers may actually be for a 1944 Chev 1543 truck. Although the S/M you mention was for CC60Lx2 trucks (with 10.50-20 WD single tyres), it would be a simple matter to find and fit commercial Chev wheels (7.50-20 tyres) as per the CC60Lx3 as both have the same 10 stud pattern. But there's the rub. The owner says the truck has 8 stud wheels, which is true for the Dodge T-L110 3 Tonner, which also has an Eaton 2 speed diff (which the owner has partly described). The Dodge T-L110 had 16" wheels, but 20" CMP wheels also fit, or if they are Civillian style duals, then wheels from a post-war Austin or Bedford will fit. At a casual glance, it may be possible to confuse the Dodge and Chev bonnet and grille line, but posting those pics, David, will clear the matter up! |
No idea
I know a bit about Dodge stuff, and I see stuff that makes me think it would be a T110L / D60, like right hand drive, three ton, etc,
Then I see GMC engine, spoked wheels (suggesting bolted-spoke type) and stuff like that. We need to see pictures I'm afraid. |

I am having problems with opening the photo files as the computer does not recognise the format. I am loathe to download them. I shall have to work around this problem somehow.
