Burma Dodge Information Required

Hi all - a contact I made a few years ago named Charles from the USA, Keefy has also had contact, is restoring a Burma Dodge. He bought the one from The Melbourne Tank Museum. The following is part of his Email to me.

Quote:

"Also if you know of any other old right hand dodge trucks. I need to see how things are connected such as starter pedal linkage, gas pedal linkage ,etc.

I have an engine rebuilt for the truck but have run into a problem regarding the bellhousing. It appears the bellhousing on the BD truck is different than other dodge truck. Later very large commerical dodge truck had a similar bellhousing but this truck are very rare so not sure I can find one in the states".

Any help would be appreciated. Charles will be in Oz at the end of April.

Bob

burma

Murray Slee, the former mayor of Shepparton, had one, possibly two of them in the late 1970's early 80's. He also had a GPA . He had them (Burma Dodge) in a yard there .The only other I've ever seen is Belfields. . I've a very good article on them here , published in 'Trucking Life' magazine or similar . From memory , apparently 'Peters Ice Cream' had one too in their fleet sometime after the war.

Burma Dodge

Last issue, No 141, of The Old Machinery Magazine has a photo roundup near the back of the issue p68 of the 'Vintage Commercial Vehicle Display 2008', that has [one picture of] a 'Burma Dodge' restored recently by Max Pollard in the civilian livery of 'Stan Miller's Transport' of Nagambie, Victoria (Aust). Has a 5th wheel mounted. It says the article is by Douglas Hamilton.

Alex
