Bofors 38mm. anti tank gun

Here are a couple of pics. of my Bofors 38mm. anti-tank gun. A number of countrys bought these guns pre WWII including G.B. Poland, Finland, Germany. If you can get hold of a book written by Crighton Stewart called G Patrol of the LRDG he mentiond this little gun.

Is the 38mm Bofors a German version? The Commonwealth Bofors was in 37mm.

My mistake, In British use it was known as Ordnance Q.F. 37mm.Mk.1 on carriage 37mm.Mk.1

Looking at the pictures this looks like a Danish gun judged by the wheels. Are there markings on the breech?

DENMARK
1934 One bought from Bofors. Bofors design 37 mm pansarvärnskanon m/34 D L/45. Danish design Fodfolkskanon Ff.K M.33. 1936 License and parts for 68 guns bought. These were assembled in Denmark by Haerens Vaabenarsenal (Army Ordnance Factory). 1937 Four of an improved version bought from Bofors. These were L/50 and designed m/36 D. In Denmark Ff.K M.37. 1940 72 guns captured by Germany and designed 3,7 cm PaK 157 (d). 1940 License and parts for 20 L/50 guns bought. 1941 Parts for 14 guns bought. POLAND 1936 300 pcs bought from Bofors. 37 mm wz.36. 1937-39 approx 900 made in Poland by Stowaryszenie Mechanikow Polski z Ameriky. A large number captured by Germany and designed 3,7 cm PaK 36 (p). Of these several were exported to Finland and Rumania. |

Foxhole, thanks for your detailed info on the bofors gun. I hope to have pictures of the markings on the barrel soon. Meanwhile I am putting some more shots of the gun showing the breech etc.
