Methinks he's building what could only be construed as a good ol' fashioned Canajun Shaggin' Wagon! :D

Not only that

It's a FORD!

Looks a little like a stretched No8 Aust FGT too.

What fun. :thup2:

Steriodal HUP / Aus Tractor

Hi Keith,

Yes you are correct. The builder has used a 134" wheelbase F60 that was used locally as a tomato wagon. Using pics of the Aus Tractor, he is building a "big brother". It has only been eight months since he found the truck. It has been a "frame off resto including drive train. He has done remarkable work for such a short period of time. I think he will out do me in restoration time.

cheers from the Home of the Blitz/CMP Fords....Windsor Ontario

I'd hate to meet the "shagee" that could bounce those springs...

Shaggers

Doesn't the 'shagger' do the bouncing while the 'shagee' just transmits the motion so to speak? :p

RHClarke 06-01-09 23:05

Hmmm

That would depend upon whom is shagging who and "positioning"...Switching gears, I admire the work on the roof of the "HUP-like" Ford.

RH....
You are conversing with a "sheep shagger" and they are a different breed of cat altogether..I met a few in my days of northern service that were big enough to bend the springs on a MACK...burnt diesel they did...Hugh...
Good thing I wasn't paying by the pound.....
On an airman's pay in those days cheap whiskey and more draggin' than most guys had hanging was the ticket...
More tales to come at Gracies on the 16th..be there...
:cheers: :drunk::remember :support

Concerns......

If driven only in parades fine..... but off road that expensive and well done roof "sheet" metal may trun to "shit" metal....... when the long frame flexes something will have to give...... even the short wheel base CGT and FGT had a flex joint in the cab 13.....

But I must say nicely done and impressive.....

More BS on Friday....

Calm down, Chevrolets are subjected to this sort of thing as well.

How´s this for a C60L "Crew Cab"?!? The owner dismantled the truck to the last rivet(!), as it was very rusty due to beach use, and rebuilt it with some room to carry his family.

The C60L above was converted from one of the well-known (in Holland, anyway) ex-Rescue Services Chevrolets, as pictured below. As they were used on the beaches, they have severe issues with rust.

How about these for something bloated and even coachbuilt.

The Post Master General department, or PMG converted many CMPs post war, mostly stretched chassis C15, but also this C15A, seen here in Melbourne.

Here's a survivor taken several years ago.
