Ottawa Gracies Call!

We've starved the gals of Gracies too long. The summer campaign season has ended along with the usual social events. I propose a beer call at our usual haunt sooner rather than later.

Since we can never please everyone, but live in a democracy, here are the proposed dates (based upon my selfish need to be there):

A. Saturday 25 October;
B. Saturday 1 November;
C. Saturday 22 November;
D. A bizarre date that will surely be recommended by others...

Cry havoc, and let slip the Rotters of Ottawa!

Alex Blair (RIP) 15-10-08 20:03

Saturday night..

Alex, If you had torn your eyes away from the fleshy delights or spent less time pondering the shapes found in beer foam, you would have noticed at least 10 TVs and a honkin' big projection screen dab smack in the middle of the joint.

But I digress...your point is taken. If them thar furiners don't indicate their attendance, then we could potentially, maybe perhaps, think about the possibility of considering the change of dates.

Bring it on!

For purely personal reasons, i.e. not CMP related, I would rather not the 24th (I'd also prefer not the 25th) but don't let me stop you if that is the best for others.

I am normally hesitant to drink with people who have no other people with whom to drink than me. I am further concerned about socializing with people who don't have anything better to do on a weekend evening.
All of that said, I can be at any bar, at any time, to drink anything with any body, anyhow.

Well with you and Grant and me ..Friday the 17th @17:00...
Any other takers..??

With regrets, I have to back out of this event as I have to go to Montreal with no return before 1930 hours - at Fallowfield. Gracie's is too far to travel to at that time for a beer or two.
If this is rescheduled to another day I will try to make it.

I just got back from Montreal and was looking forward to a brew at Gracies this week. However, given the diversity of schedules, I'll go along with Alex's suggestion - 21 October.

Grant Bowker 17-10-08 03:11

October 21 at Gracies (East)

Tues 21st is OK for me.

servicepub (RIP) 17-10-08 04:08

21st works for me.

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 17-10-08 13:31

Tues 21 Oct....

Unfortunately, Sally and I will just have to sit at home and get pissed by ourselves that evening. Alone. By ourselves. Without company. Oh well. :(

Have fun, take pics & report afterwards! :D

Alex Blair (RIP) 17-10-08 15:43

Make it so..

Where: Gracies on Olgilvie Rd in Ottawa East (Gloucester)
When: 1700ish or earlier
Why: Philosophic questions will be answered in due course by the beer
What: Same agenda different date
Who: Anyone interested in old rusty trucks

To Geoff and Sally-Ann: Regrets understood...

Sally Ann 18-10-08 02:03

Another point of view here ;)

Which translated means: After work Geoff will come home,, have a big supper, turn on the T.V. and work up to an apres-diner snooze after watching NCIS. :rolleyes... I, on the other hand, have the kittehs... and a nice cuppa tea :thup:

The Itinerate Gunner

Axle,

Mike is out at Connaught Ranges teaching on the MTAP (Mil Training Assistance Program). It is expected that he will be Africa bound later in November. Between his instructional duties, dive shop business and S&P events, he comes up for air only once in a blue moon. Keeping Mike busy is good for him...

He will surface soon, and I think he may be enticed to join us, perhaps with some of his foreign students...

I'll give him a call on Monday if time and memory permit.

Gunner 20-10-08 01:37

Calnan still in Canada!

Hi Guys:

If'n I can get away from Connaught I will be there on Tue night. I'll see if Graeme wants to attend.

Have some great slides of the various summer activities including the highly successful Camp Husky!

:cheers: Mike:remember :support

Someone bring a camera - we need proof for any boards of inquiry thereafter. I left home without my camera and will be working late today, therefore, I won't be going home to pick it up.

Actually, any time after 1430 hrs is late...and to be specific, I am a "contractor" as opposed to being an employee (Public Servant - AKA those I trip over when I leave...).

Hope to see ya at Gracies!

This Thread is Useless without Pictures

None of us brought a camera. Nothing more need be said, other than, Jessica, thanks for being our server...
