Ctl 13900 ?????

Does any one know what CTL13900 is for? Found it in a pile of carrier parts I picked up and can't quite figure it out. Dated 1943 FMCO. Its a bracket of some sort but for what?

Do you have picture? Does the parts manual give any descrition?

It's not in FUC-3, which was 1944 dated. I agree with Jordan, a pic will go a long way. Maybe it's an item that went obsolete by 44, but with a date of 43 on the part, thats hard to believe.

I had already checked my parts catalog (FUC-03) and it didn't show up, hence the post.

Is it by chance part of a mount for a spare wheel?

I also pulled that Stacey towing attachment off, will have a go at refinishing that next.

Brad, it looks like part of the mechanism for the drain plug in the floor on a MK11.

Armoured Scout Cars sometimes at a similar looking part mounted on a front fender and it's purpose was to support a Sun Compass. Might at least provide another lead to investigate.

Brad

Barry is onto it.
It is part of the drain mechanism. It mounts to the floor beside the diff extention housing. The spindle is a couple of feet long and goes up top. it has another support at the rear plate inside the engine covers. The bit of the spindle you have is the bit at the bottom that connects to a round plate, that seals the hole through the floor.
I only know because this is the set up in my OP no1 Mk3w.
Lynn.

The nearest part number to this in FUC03 is CTL13909: Frame, cleaning hole cover. With your part number being so close, it sounds right that your part is related or may well be the same piece with one number mis-stamped.
