Schizoid Texas Weather

2 Attachment(s)
For the last two weeks we have been basking in 70 to 80 degree weather with buds appearing on the trees and birds chirping. I even heard crickets for the first time the other night, then what the heck is up with this shite! Take a look at these pictures I took yesterday, I feel like the poor Gefreiter in the pic I posted in the Sapper's Forum yesterday. Derek.

MY God! They must pay you to live there! LOL! As for blaming the snow on Canadians, isn't that a river in Texas?

At least it's melting rapidly and were due to be back into the mid 60's by the weekened...unseasonably cool, but not too bad. :giveup

I guess it's a matter of perspective. I don't know what you are complaining about, you can still see your hubcaps.

I just finished a poaching trip East a few weeks ago and I was amazed at the amount of snow in Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick. But then again their temps were all around -4 C. Once I got back to Manitoba, the -27C was there waiting for me. But we only have about a foot of snowfall in total on the ground.

I think I would take the snow over these temps any day. When you live in Manitoba, you take whatever the devil dishes out. Here it is March already, and we are still hitting lows of -32 C at night.

Sorry guys, but it's kind of hard to feel real sorry for any of you. Even snowtractor has been basking in +12C these days since he abandoned the North for the tropics of Alberta.

Actually Ken, it's not snow, it's Spotted Owl droppings. Since they stopped logging the old growth forests in Washington state, the darn owls have become worse than the ShitHawks in Vancouver.

Apparently this storm we got came up from Texas    Thanks Derek.
This is Janet out for a walk with the dogs during the storm.
In the next photo I have no hubcaps showing. I think Alex and the boys got even more than me.
Barry

Sorry about the weather Barry I can only hope the next weather pattern also finds it's way to Canada. By Friday, the temperature here is supposed to hit 90 degrees! See what I mean about schizoid weather. Derek.

Let’s hope not! Things would get rather wet, fast, with that type of heat wave. Remember all that snow? It’s better to let it melt slowly. :giveup :nono:

According to the CBC National news the weather system that started in Texas and which brought all that snow to Eastern Canada is now battering the UK, thanks to a 355km/hour jet stream.

Winter: the time period from approx 25 September until as late as 15 June, during which precipitation in the form of snow may occur and accumulate.

While I have little sympathy for the Texans, and about the same for the Easterners, I do feel bad for the UK. Not sure why, but I just do. Do they own snowblowers over there?

We hit +4 C today. Things are looking up in Manitoba.

Rob..
Gordon has a M-H snowblower up in Scotland...
And +4 is just good enough to start the Red melting...which of course flow NOrth, which is frozen harder and colder than a well diggers ankle..
Break out the bateaux...
It's just about flood time..

And here I am sitting in the frozen wastelands of the Canadian prairies and we've had a mild winter with only a couple of weeks of the really cold stuff and about a foot of snow total. Global warming must be fickle about where she strikes!! The last couple of days were almost to the plus 10 mark. I guess I'll just have to put up with it.

John McGillivray 11-03-08 22:11

The temp at PET airport now is -1c. We are to get another 4cm of snow overnight and tomorrow. We haven’t broken the record for snowfall yet. So far Montreal has received 347cm. The record set in 1971 was 383cm. I was in grade nine when in March 1971 we got hit by over 30 inches in a two day period. The Army was called out for that one because tracked vehicles were the only things that could move. My school was closed for a week, so I had nothing to complain about.
