Stump the Chump II

First off, I'd like to thank all the contestants who participated in the first Stump the Chump. There were no correct answers although two contestants came close. Now, if the Tortoise allows, I'll upload a picture for the 2nd season of Stump the Chump.

First pic:

(P.S.) there is a hint in the forum I posted this thread.

Okay, I'll start this one :D

Is it possibly an attachment to a Flail Tank?

Paul.

Looks like something a dentist would use.

My dentist doesn't need anything so crude to distract my attention. She just has to whip out a...... oh, never mind... :o

I hope this pic uploads. O.K., here is a larger picture of the mystery vehicle.
Simply answering, "it's a mine plough on a tank" is not going to win you any cudos. What is, is accurately naming the vehicle and the attachment. This vehicle is relatively rare and unknown, unlike previous mystery vehicles I have posted. I was constantly amazed how quickly MLU members such as Hanno and Richard, among others, could so quickly identify previous mystery vehicles I had posted. Such is the depth of knowledge available on this forum. I hope this one presents a challenge to all. Derek.

Les, didn't you read my last post! This is supposed to be difficult! :salute:

However, to be declared the winner, what is it's name?

Ryan 12-02-08 23:39

Do I get half a point?

It's based on a Type 89 medium tank.

Bill Murray 13-02-08 01:46

It is this vehicle.

It's not the Type 89, if you look closely at one it has 4 idler wheels.

A real jack of all trades, this Japanese equivalent of an AVRE looked to do it all: bridging, mine clearing, decontamination...some even carried built in generators for power in the field. Thanks Bill for the link. Derek.

Glad to help. Here is the main site address.
Not all inclusive, but very helpful for Japanese materiel.
