Located in the same yard , this WOT6 3 Tonner has seen better days . It displays faded camo scheme on both doors .

Off side door reads :
supplied by Australian Comforts Fund . An organisation that gave out sporting gear , amenities radios etc., to the Aussie servicmen during WW2 . The ACF logo , a six pointed star is visible . Would have had an interesting history , this truck . |

The chassis is sound , but driveline looks to be bery rusty .
I noted the cable operated brakes ! The two heavy cables are visible on the crossmember . |

Amazingly, the radiator /crash bar is still there . And at least one W/screen frame . A weekend project for the optomist .

A not so sad WOT6

A timely post, as I am working on a WOT6 today. It is slightly later than one in your photos. Mounted with a Machinery Body, it has laid around for some years, with cab supports rusted out, but now been replated, engine and gearbox out for repairs, body off, etc. First pic is of how my friend bought it and second pic is a few weeks ago before we refitted the body. |
