name change ?

Hello Hanno : Why did you change the name under the restoration of my Wire-5 for Craig Tanner ? I bought the truck 4 years ago for someone who had bought it from Craig and i am the one who restored it and i started the thread . Thanks . Robert Bergeron

Name change

It looks like your restoration thread was merged with Craig’s thread. Once Hanno sees this thread I am sure he will reverse the merge for you.

Hello Robert,

Indeed I merged the two threads, as I try to keep info about a particular truck in one thread. This help the consecutive owners/ restorers/ caretakers to keep track of part of the history of that particular vehicle. If you wish I will undo it later.

Thanks . Let’s keep them together but please put my name under the thread as Craig just did the engine .

Hello Robert, as explained I merged the two threads as I try to keep info about a particular truck in one thread. This help the consecutive owners/ restorers/ caretakers to keep track of part of the history of that particular vehicle. This means that the name of the first MLU member who posts about a particular vehicle shows in the overview of threads. I cannot change that.

If you wish to have a part of this thread under your own name I will undo the merge. I cannot do that at the moment as it is time consuming, so please bear with me to find some time later.

Thanks,

Hopefully the new forum software will give some extra option for cases like this (?).....maybe editor names can be altered?

I see the benefit in merging certain threads to keep the info centered, but in some case it makes reading the newly merged threads more difficult. I remembered some threads on the Diamond T 975 were merged a long time ago; (I think 2 or 3 threads), as each of these threads were also linking to the other threads before, these links in the merged thread now point to the same thread, which than points to the same thread...pointing to the same thread....same, same, same.....well you get the idea :D.

It makes reading the thread and seeing responces somewhat confusing. But, than again.....the benefit is the info is now in 1 thread. I am happy this task is up to Hanno deciding what is best :salute: :D

Stay sane, Hanno...or buy a vineyard...

i too wonder why my thread was merged. doesn't really seem fair that the person who posted a for sale add(they weren't seller) will get the heading under their name. i bought it, imported it and will be doing the restoration. heck i can't even find where my thread is now. but if it's the groups policy, it is what it is.
