Armoured Carrier Wheeled (Indian Pattern)
My later father-in-law served with the RAF Regiment in Burma in WW2 and drove the Armoured Carrier Wheeled (Indian Pattern) which from his description had a turret, so that would I think have been a Mk III.
Has anyone got a picture of a Mk III as I can only find this on the web; on this link its in ACV-IP Gallery http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/India/ACV-IP.php Any photos of this and earlier versions in use by the RAF Regiment in India / Burma in WW2 gratefully received. |
Wheeled Carrier

This is the New Zealand version, about 99 chassis were imported in 1942 from Canada and 76 were built right through with complete bodies, based on the Indian wheeled Carrier. These were of welded construction. They served in the Korean war as 25pdr gun tractors. One mod. for Korea was a half track front roller adapted to the front of the machine. Cheers Andrew.

Larry,
Look up Wheels & Tracks issue no. 41 to see if that has the information you're looking for. HTH, Hanno |
Is issue 41 still available or has someone scanned it and put it on line?

Scanning Wheels and Tracks Magazines
Have you heard of copyright, it is usually found on the contents page of a magazine like Wheels and Tracks. Scanning copyright material and putting it on line is against the law, it is theft.
