Vaughan charity golf tournament to support Canada's injured soldiers
VAUGHAN, ON, April 25 /CNW/ - The Vaughan Business Exchange's annual
charity golf tournament will take place May 29, 2007 at the Nobleton Lakes
Golf Club, in support of The Sapper Mike McTeague Wounded Warrior Fund.
When injured soldiers are hospitalized, they often only have with them
the uniform they are wearing.
This fund provides them with such items as personal blankets, DVD and MP3
players and long-distance phone and internet services.
Family financial support is also made available.

Of course DND does provide morale support items/activities to our injured troops. Sometimes not in as timely a manner as these kindhearted souls can, but there is a program. The big issue is catching up with our Reservists who are hospitalized in areas without a large military presence. Watercooler discussions indicate that this too is being addressed.

My hat is off to those who take the bull by the horns and boldly show their appreciation to our returning soldiers.
