Call Sign Names

Hi, new to the forum. I'm attempting to put together a comprehensive list of the First Hussars, names of the crews and the names of their call signs for D Day. Would appreciate any direction for this search, I've gone down many a rabbit hole and found some interesting information, but one can never exhaust the journey. Thanks in advance.

Gary,

I'd recommend you get in touch with the member on here who goes by Jack Geratic. He has the exact same interest as you and has done a lot research on the subject.

Cheers,
Dan.

Not sure if by call signs you mean individual tank names (like HOLY ROLLER, etc) or the sometimes referred to radio call signs?

I've not come across a listing of nick names, but radio call signs are quite likely the same for all Canadian units as issued in 'APPENDIX E':

Member names can be found regularly listed as monthly returns for officers and other ranks in the dedicated War Diaries, but don't recall seeing them grouped together as exact crews per vehicle. Check out these four files:

There is also a portion found in file T-12653 but starts off with the diaries 5th Armoured Regiment (8 PLNBH),
but at some point (midway?) switches to the First Hussars:
