A woman cleaning out her deceased father's home in the Quebec town of Knowlton made a bombshell discovery on Friday – she found a live grenade.
Kedrin Simms Brachman said she was going through the Eastern Townships home when she found it in a toolbox.
"We went into his tool room, which was always, like, nobody ever went into his tool room. That was a sacred place," she said. I was looking for something, and then I opened up the toolbox, and there was a grenade."

Who says it was live?

The military EOD team responded to the police call. The comment I saw was the ammunition technician who inspected it, said the fuse and detonator were intact.

...but presumably separated from the grenade - and may have been a 'training' version anyway. The base plug looks to be most of the way out and I would expect paint markings on the body if it had been filled.

(A friend had one at school back in the 1970s - his mother worked at the factory during WW2, making them, and various workers 'collected' one as a souvenir when the place shut down.)
