86 squadron
 
A friend of mine, his dad Clem was in 86 squadron . Clem put together this web site before he died , he was a armourer fitter . Clem was also in BCOF in Japan .

Bohle River Aerodrome still exists (just) in Townsville, but it is about to be redeveloped as part of the industrial suburb of Shaw. :remember

Mustangs
 
Apparently the squadron changed over from Kittyhawks to Mustangs . Clem mentioned to me , during his time in Nth. Queensland he learnt to drive in a Ford blitz . Clem kept his armourers bible , a large RAAF publication detailing how to service the guns .
