They are actually from the Toronto Scottish Regiment, who mounted the King's Guard at Buckingham Palace in April 1940.

Mark : it must have been late April taking over from the R22R which was there from 12 to 21 April and which was the first "non-british" regiment to guard at Buckingham. Was that incorrect news service photo used in any paper? Im thinking maybe one of the Sun papers perhaps? as they are Quebecor |
