Brockway 5ton and International KS 5 in N.S.W Australia

Hi all, i though you might like to know- and i know its not all cmp, but its interesting anyway!
Just looking through "the land" newspaper and looking at the clearing sales, there is a brockway 5 ton truck- year/make unknown(could it be ww2?) and a 1944 KS 5 international tipper for auction on the 19th march at bogan gate in N.S.W. see page 30 of the land magazine. in the clearing sales bit.

Then at forbes there is "3 old chev trucks"- not sure makes could be blitz`s then again could be anything chevy! see page 31, at the Rockvale auction- 5th april.

Just thought i`d let you know.- id go have a look but forbes is too far for me, considering i cant afford anymore vehicles- 2 jeeps and im poverty stricken!- though the brockway would be nice if its ww2!

Hi Ian, could that Brockway be a 6 ton 6x6? See http://www.autogallery.org.ru/brock666.htm for some pictures.

Hello hanno,
i would not know what type of brockway it is.
It could be a 6ton and they have not gotten correct information, but it is at an auction, and you know some auctioneers and vehicles, it could be anything!- sorry if anyones an auctioneer. :)
I`d say it is, but not knowing my heavy trucks or the production details of ww2 and postwar brockways it could be a 5 ton and not ww2.

If i get a chance ill call the auctioneers and see if i can get some more information on the truck- year model, weight, condition, price sold for etc.- if it didnt sell i might be able to talk mum and dad that its a good idea to get it!!! :D
But until then i guess we`ll not know- unless someone from here went to see, but i cant unfortunately. I`ll also ask around in our club and see if anyone knows/went to see.

Cheers,- sorry for short notice on it too.

Ian.

Well, i rang the auctioneers and they said to ring the owner. I spoke to his wife and she said that another bloke rang up about the brockway and apparently it was said that it was a 1928 model, which would explain why it says 5 ton. :( Ooh well, it cant hurt to ask! She insisted it was old, and old and old! so i guess the date is about right!

and im sorry, i got the dates mixed up, tha auction for the inter and brockway is on the 29th not the 19th! sorry!

Cheers,

ian.
