Not a tank, but a tractor assembled from surplus Sherman tank parts. Vickers built these using bogies, tracks, GM diesel engine, gearbox and final drive from M4A2 Shermans.

Luke,

There were actually two survivors in Belgium. The first one at Oostende, shown on my website and below, was scrapped somewhere between 2002 and 2004.

A second one, located at Morlanwez was pictured in 1995 but it was also scrapped in August 2003 due to environmental regulations.

How these two came to Belgium is unknown. I think the African ground nut scheme for which they were developed did not come to full fruition, so the remaining Shervick tractors must have been sold off to civilian operators. Here is a link to a webpage with pictures of one in use in the Netherlands in the early 1950s.
