I'm sure if you need an extra can of kat fud per month, we here in the MLU family could find a way of getting it to you. What do you prefer, Nine Lives' Super Supper? It's nice on toast with a little garlic and salt 'n pepper...

You are so kind, and thoughtful,as allways..
Actually I prefer Solid Gold Katzen Flocken Cat Food ..
It helps with the hair balls ....
I don't do the Tuna flavour though...Cancer in a can...High in mercury..
I like the lamb...just switched to it recently...
Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken Cat Food (lamb). WOW!!! What a huge difference! No more diarrhea! My stool is now compact and not very smelly at all! My hair is absolutely gorgeous now too.
Try it ..you'll like it..

All employers want to know about basic skills. aka computer skills(which is important nowadays).Believe me,this is exactly what I'm going through right now.Think about your strong points and go from there,Remember them on your interview,

Having said that I now put all jokes aside and wish you the best Ma Yappy with the interview. I will send any positive thoughts I may have your way for sure.

Ma..
Just trying to inject some humour into your quest..
As a past employer and employee, I have found that is is always best to keep the conversation short and sweet..Don't get verbal diareha during the interview..don't volunteer too much info but tell the truth and stick to your objective..to land that job..
Do a web search about your new future job/employer and know something of the company..You can say that you have done some research on the company and this is the type of company that you would like to be a team member in and that you know that you can offer positive skills to your employer..Knowing you personally from CC4 you Have

1.Great people skills to offer....

2.Organizational skills to offer...

3.Research skills to offer...

4.Friendly ..

5.Like people...

6.Willing and eager to learn...

7.Team member....

Remember these points and bring them forward in the interview..
Make a little list in point form and just put the paper in a file folder and take it into the interview room with you..
Set out your point form, short, keywords and well spaced so that you can see them at a glance..
Don't keep the file open but keep it in front of you closed, but available to open and glance at..
Have some extra paper and two pens in case you want to take some notes.
This technique works..
It is an insurance that you don't blank out when you get in there and kick your self after that you didn't mention this of that.
These keywords are enough jog your memory so that your yappyness will take over..
Just don't say TOO much or dwell TOO long on any one point..
A good point to work on is knowing when to keep your mouth shut..
Just remember..
Most hiring people know you don't know squat about the job..What they are looking for is someone that they can train and is willing to learn..They want someone who will be able to get along with the people they allready have(Teamwork) and do not pose a problem to them down the line..
No one wants to hire problems..

Hope this helps a little..Good luck..
Keep us in the loop.

Hi Garry ... thanks for that.

I'll keep you posted ... this is for a home-based business ... he seems to be an entrepreneurial type. If my unpredictably fluctuating abilities can be accommodated (arthritis and fibromyalgia flares) ... then this should work. I have a lot of skills and abilities that would be good for this sort of thing. Hopefully any good points will far outway my not so good.

If I don't have any strong points I'll just hope the guy has low standards and still pays me :D

Thanks Cliff ... getting the job is a huge disappointment when that doesn't happen (it's happened all too often the last few years especially) ... getting it is great ... losing it again because of health issues would be a blow. But what the hell ... if that happens yet again, I'd have some pay days between now and then, I hope :D

(you're absolutely correct regards the ego-boost of getting a job after so long a dry spell ... thanks for that positive energy coming my way ;) !)

Keep us in the loop.

I appreciated your humour Alex ... and thank you for it. I certainly took no offence ... just tried to give the humour back :p

Thank you ... for your assessment of what skills you figure you saw in me ... they sound downright marketable :D (and they have worked for me in the past)

My attitude about jobs is that the biz is the bosses baby, and my job is to do what his biz demands ... his way... unless he consults me ;) Then I'll charge a consulting fee (not)

And by the way ... thanks a lot for the hint to write things down, because I do have high anxiety and go blank (a week point) when applying for jobs or similar situations of being "assessed" That's a long-time kneejerk reaction.

I'll definately write things down ... this whole interview/job seems quite casual but a serious one. He needs help. I need money. Win/Win ;) By the way ... I'd have to learn quickbooks and probably lots about his biz as I'd be be doing a lot of admin tasks.

Thanks to all ... for the positives!

Karmen

Alex, go have some more Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken Cat Food (lamb) and a good dump. You're making altogether too much sense and we're not used to that.

I'm getting old, yes, but not getting smart! Do you have to take something for that?

Yes, tentatively, to Ottawa, but I have to know dates etc well in advance in order to plan timings and finances. Keep me posted.

Thanks a lot Garry ... and as for your interview on Friday, excellent news to know they want you to come in Friday ... my positive energy will be flowing your way, as I know how nervewracking this whole "interview" thing is ... and geez, they get harder as you get older don't they? I find mid-life job-hunting to be a little ... ... the benefits of hiring older employees are excellent ...

My own interview, went well. The man spent an HOUR with me ... which already tells you he felt good enough about me to spend that much time out of his busy schedule. This guy is serious about what he does and as an employer he's one of the good guys for sure... and really believes in teamwork (as do I) He even offered to pay for me to take a Quickbooks course if he takes me on (which at this point I sense/know that I'm at the top of the list as the best candidate SO FAR for what he wants and needs ... as much of that fits in with my own wants and needs) He has two more interviews to do, and says he'll probably be ready to make his decision mid next week.

I suspect, unless a better person for the job pops up in his next two interviews, that he'll go with me. So many things "just work" both ways, for short term and long term.

He's even flexible enough that should Sunray and I want to attend an event during the week that it's more than likely that he/we will be able to work that in/around work ... so ...

I don't have the job yet ... but after an hour it seems like he and I would probably work well together ... he's a good/smart boss, and no idiot. I'd start at 2 days per week ...

I'm sure he'll run some checks on my work history in the interim :D

All I can say is ... so far, so good ... but the job isn't mine yet, so don't break out the Tim Tams in celebration just yet ;)

Garry ... knock 'em dead on Friday!

Reference

To whom it may concern.

I have known the applicant for a period of time and have found her to be a very communicative person.

In fact her communication skills have been demonstrated in some 2,263 posts in an online forum in about 18 months, which should give you some idea of her ability to communicate, particularly her word-processing skills.

In addition she cares about others, and is an all-round nice person.

You should hire her without hesitation.
