Scale Modeler Expertise Needed

I am looking for advice regarding the transparent style Water Slide Decal Transfer Sheets currently available for use in Laser Printers.

From what I can see on-line, there are several manufacturers out there, but I cannot find much information concerning how good any of these products are when working with them.

Are they all equally as good as one another, are any excellent, or are any out there that one should avoid at all costs? I am thinking about factors such as adhesion to objects, too thick, to thin and easily broken. That sort of thing.

I would also like to know what, if any, products are out there that can be sprayed or brushed over the applied decals to help them to lay flat over such things as raised panel line edges, rivets etc. Will any of these products work well with Laser Printer Water Slide decals?

I am a scale modeller who went to 1:1 scale, mostly

I can not speak to the laser printer issue

To help decals lay flat the old trick was to spray a gloss clear coat over the model and then use the decals and some folks used some type of softening liquid. Never used it myself. The gloss coat was sufficient for my purposes.

On AFV and softskins I then sprayed a flat coat over top of the decals and restored the vehicle to the look I wanted.

There are some old school forums out there and some new fangled Facebook groups.

Paul Fredenburg at TrackJam models is a good resource and will likely answer an email directly

You asked for expert help, I am a rank amateur

Good luck
