1943 Cletrac Tractor MG-1

Do we have a area for tractors? I guess this can be posted in the softskin area. Just arrived home with a new purchase, 1943 Cletrac Tractor MG 1...First order of business will be to repaint to olive drab. I don't know much about these tractors but starts up nice and is fun to drive!

It's missing the compressor, welder, and air stuff, (any thing else?) are these items hard to find? Might anyone have manuals forsale? Best, Rick

can't get photos to upload so you can see MG-1 at:

Stuff

Well,

you need to check Cletrac.org, there is a section on there for MG1 and MG2 military machines.

Depending on where you are, you might want to search HMVF as well as Matt Rimmer on there has just landed a nice MG-1 too.

Just as an aside, I'm sure my Iron Fireman T-36 diff is a slight variation on the MG-1 or MG-2 unit as well.

Dennis Spence at Portrayal has the manuals I'm sure.

They have a 110 volt generator that goes on the fender but it's not a welder. Being a 1943 model it'll need a 4 cylinder 3 stage air compressor that puts out 2500 pounds pressure. The air tank that goes on the fender is actually an oxygen cylinder to handle that kind of pressure.
If you check out the cletrac.org site there's pics of me pulling a B17 at the Saskatoon air show a few years ago. They invited me back again this August but I'm not sure if I'll make it or not.

Thanks for the replies and information, Cletrac.org does have a lot of good information. David your unit looks outstanding...nice job! Did you post your restoration progress on MLU, as it would be nice to view your steps and progress? The windshield and top really add to the "look" of the tractor.

Hi Rob, no I'm still on the hunt for a cab and chassis for my F.A.T., also keeping my eyes open for any bits and pieces that might show up...not much has presented itself though.
