The carrier sold for $8100 + $1215 buyers fee + tax, which I think is around 15% in Ontario. That means the carrier sold for somewhere over $10K. The auctioneer mentioned that restored he has seen them in the $17,000 range. I don't think he has seen a fully restored one sell for a while.
So it looks like a new carrier owner (buyers handle was Gils64) is in for a restoration. Hopefully he finds this site for information and guidance. The roadwheels were more of a bargain. They looked in good shape, and went for $225.00 + $33.75fees = $258.75 and then tax on top of that so under $300. That works out to about $5 a wheel, which is very reasonable. Front Bogie and bracket went for $57.50 + tax, and the 3 upper return rollers were $46 plus tax. If I were closer, I would have bought the road wheels. Can never have too many of those. |
