Carrier rear step rubber

1 Attachment(s)
Hi

I've had a professional mould made to reproduce the rubber step pads found on the early Bren/MK1 rear tool plate. I've made new rubbers and i was wondering if there would be any interest in me making more for you guys? I've used a black polyurethane instead of rubber as i think it will last a little longer and has better UV properties, the flexibility is the same. They will be £15 each.

Please see the photo of a new one with an original for comparison, any questions just ask

Cheers

Ben

Didn't even know there was supposed to be rubber there...

Jordan Baker 08-03-12 01:03

The rubber was only on the first few thousand I think. They then switched to the diamond pattern treadplate.

But they do look very nice.

Thanks for that. We are all learners. Maybe that's what Ford of Canada did. Anybody know any more? I guess if your carrier has bolt holes, it should have a rubber tread. Are the diamond tread plates welded?
BTW. the sample does carry a TL number, and as with the other stuff Ben has done, They will be great! This is your chance.

yeah they phased in the diamond plates later to cut down on rubber usage i think the diamond plate is welded in but dont quote me.

Ben stick me down for a pair.

Please put me down for a pair Ben.

Hi Ben,

I would like 2 pairs if you have them please.

Mark.......

Ben 11-09-15 20:05

I can still make step rubbers.

I'm not looking to sell them but would swap for carrier parts. You can PM me if you want to trade anything.

Hi Ben,

I only have wheels, repro headlight brackets, repro crank handles to swap. Im happy to pay.

Mark........

Lynn Eades 12-09-15 03:14

Wow Mark!, I though you had about 30 ton of carrier stuff.
Didn't you tell me that?
That went quick! I can't have been watching Trademe close enough.

Mark Pearson 12-09-15 05:29

Hi Lynn,

Most stuff has gone over the last 12 months. I think I've even put on a few pounds myself over time, lol. Im looking to keep two British carriers and either sell or scrap the remaining 1 and 1/2. I also forgot Ben that I do have some sprockets too for trade.

Mark.........

Ben 12-09-15 07:39

Hi Mark

I'm not really after any of those repro parts. Only looking to trade, let me know if you find any other bits.

Cheers

Ben
