MRF 9.00 X 16 Tyres in Oz

I recently purchased a set of the MRF bar tread tyres, 9.00 x 16 inch for my F15a.
I went into a local tyre place who was having a sale of tractor tyres, and I asked him about bar treads. He showed me a catalogue and there they were. It took him a couple of days to get them from Melbourne, and Voila! It was good to get them so easily, and at a good price. This tyre dealer is an independant, so he could get any tyre. I believe that Tyres R Us can get them in Sydney.

Can't wait to find the time to fit them. :D

Eric ,

Apparently the MRF's are selling like hot cakes . Credit for pointing us in this direction should go to Lang Kidby in Brisbane . He alerted me onto the MRF 9.00-13's , being sold by Agtyre in Moree .

I rang Agtyre and they were more than helpful , great service I must say . Anyway , I had a few chats with them on the phone and I really pushed the thought in their mind , the need for 9.00X16's here in OZ . Agtyres didn't realise that there is a market out there , us MV owners , dying for 9.00X16's . I spread the word via a few lines in the VMVC newsletter , which they surprisingly printed , and word spead around , the tyres are now available .

Good thing I dont have to swim to India for them, cheap as chips I say... cheaper than tyres for my 4x4. & they are a cut above my 1942 Chevron patterns!

Eric.
How much did you pay for the tyres? I have managed to secure a bulk-buy of them but want to check other prices before I commit to the deal.
See thread in 'For Sale or Trade".
Thanks,
HH

MRF TYRES

Hi Howard. I have just fitted 9.00x16 MRF's to my F15a. Agtyre would not sell to me personally, I had to go through a tyre shop. In the end I got them for $225 each from Charlton Tyre Service here in Toowoomba. I have heard other people getting them cheaper however.

Make sure you get the ones "to fit flat base rim only". These are designed to fit British rims.

They fitted perfectly and look very good.

Tim Berry
