Surprisingly, I recently got a photo from a M6 High Speed Tractor as displayed on pages 18-21 in the book.
On the back of the photo the following text:

"Souvenir of 241 Super Heavy Battery, 61st Super Heavy Regiment, R.A., Groenlo, Holland, May 1945".

Wow! What a photo! Is there a high-resolution version available please? I might be able to use it in VINTAGE ROADSCENE magazine.

Regrettably Alan is very ill in hospital and has been for some weeks.

I do hope you guys want a follow-up (or two) book in the same vein!

The # 12 Cab CGT was supposedly the first vehicle assembled at Cuerden Mill, Bamber Bridge, near Preston, Lancashire which would have been May? 1941. The old woollen mill was taken over by General Motors Ltd.

Just like to say I have now seen it and the photographs as well as the quality of printing are absolutely outstanding!

My favourites are the post-war conversions of the C8 cab 12s into vans, including a most unlikely woodie and ice cream van.

The book arrived yesterday. Wow, excellent work! Lots of large size, large resolution pictures of interesting vehicles.
It will get a nice spot next to the books of Nigel Watson and the publications of Bart VanderVeen!

It is with the deepest regret that I have to inform you that my boss, my friend, my co-author, Alan Earnshaw passed away peacefully last night after a long illness.

Regrettably Trans-Pennine have been wound-down as a result of Alan's death. The company's shop in Appleby has also been closed. It has in fact turned out much sadder than anyone had thought possible.

It is with some pleasure that I confirm that VINTAGE ROADSCENE that was fomerly franchised by Trans-Pennine Publishing and edited by Alan Earnshaw, has continued under Ian Allan Publishing. A new Editor has been appointed and it will continue under Ian Allan for the future. Yours truly continues to write for MILITARY SCENE, and back copies containing the entire CMP Story from inception to 1939 are available.

I mention this just to advise that not all was lost when Alan passed-on.

To be honest I am not sure myself as I don;t have a complete set but the CMP Story started in issue 105 I think and has just finished with issue 118, with 13 Parts! The first part of the WD Mechanization Report started with issue 99, and the first part relating to the 1936-1938 Mechanization Board Reports started with issue 85 I think.
