"MilArt" an on-line magazine
A few weeks ago I started an on-line magazine for articles on Canadian military subjects - specifically materiel-culture related. To date the articles have dealt with uniforms, insignia and headdress.
Tonight I posted the first article in the "Vehicles" section, on the Canadian -made Rota-trailer. Please feel free to visit the site, comment, share and follow. The article can be seen at www.servicepub.wordpress.com Cheers, Clive A more direct URL is http://wp.me/p3QxcD-7z |

Wonderful pictures and article.
Were all the vehicle Left Hand drive except the one going up the long hill ...... or could that picture been reversed.....?
Could not help but laugh when they failed for having limited access for maintenance. I take it the design engineers could not remember the Cab 11 layout. Overall the design does look similar to some later Russian models. Cheers Bob C |
On closer look.....
On the pciture showing the 6x6 towing the 25 pdr MARS gun...... is it possible that the tires on the gun are the experimental wooden segment wheels being tested due to rubber shortages???
Just love enlarging and examining these old pictures. Cheers |
Some of the imperial to metric conversions leave a lot to be desired. in the article "Staghound Rocket Launcher" the conversions are well out.
3,000 yards does not equal 2,000 metres, it is 2,743.2metres so that measurement is almost 3/4 of a kilometre out. That's not a small amount. Having said that, I am enjoying the vehicles category listings. Regards Rick. |

Thanks for the correction. something went seriously amiss with my mental arithmetic there, however, it does reinforce the next sentence "Accuracy (particularly in terms of range) was wanting," Roger |
Roger,
That made me laugh. A good read though. Regards Rick |
