Sacrilige! Although not all "Texans" were built in Texas, initial production was in Inglewood, California, all SNJ's were eventually called Texans after the production facility at Hensley Field was built 11 miles from Dallas. Hensley field, now called N.A.S. Dallas has been the scene of much activity over the decades with 4,400 SNJ's built there and many Free French pilots received training there during the war.
