1945 dated box ID ?
 

Can somebody ID these metal boxes ? I was given two of these recently, both in excellent condition.The original colour is light brown, not green.

No idea... but the carpet is lovely

The C3 Mk.1 was made for 3 charger clips of four rounds each, ie 12 rounds of 40mm Bofors ammunition. Light weight steel box introduced late in the war, circa early 1945.

Yours was made by Ruskins Motor Bodies.
