4th Field Company--RCE
Looking for any information on this unit that my father was a sapper in, that served from 1943 to end of war.

4th Fd Coy RCE
4th Fd Coy RCE is well written up in the Vol 2 of the History of the Corps of Royal Canadian Engineers. The index page (691) has about 2 dozen mentions, from Canada to UK to Italy to NW Europe and back to Canada.
https://cmea-agmc.ca/history-canadia...tary-engineers As the son of an engineer veteran you are eligible to join the Canadian Military Engineer Association (CMEA) and take advantage of the member's-cost price for the histories. There are 3 published and a 4th in the works. Annual membership is $2.01 per month. The extra cent is a bit of trickery to get around the military's automatic deduction threshold for serving members. (If you buy one of these books, I will very likely be handling it at some step. The triwalls of stock are kept in a space which I control.) |

Here’s a Nominal Roll for the unit, but of course a nominal roll is just a “snap shot” in time, as men depart and arrive in the unit
