Carburettor information Solex S1450 wanted

Hi all,

I need some information regarding my solex carburetor fitted to my flat head V8. I was told that the Brengun carriers have a flathead fitted so thought some one in the group may be able to help.

It is a twin choke carb, model no. S1450

Does anyone know were I can get a full set of spares!!

I could also do with a parts drawing and knowing the full spec of the carb.

All help gratefully received.

Bryan

Treadwell Carb in NY State

I had excellent results with Treadwell. I sent them the hulk of the single barrel carb original to the carrier, including the govenor, and they totally rebuilt it. Even the Govenor.

Then, then put it on a V8 test motor and set up the adjustments.

All for $98.00 USD

They also have European makes.

They now know what a bren carrier is if you ask them!

Cheers,
JIm

Now I think Bryan means one of these - attached. The spec here says its the 100hp engine so probably doesn't have the single barrel carb, velocity governor and manifold adaptor, which incidentally Ballard had (or did have) brand new in the sticky sealing paper stuff.

Good afternoon,

You have a link for our business Carburetter Exchange on your forum here: http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1788

Would it be possible to update it with our new website: www.carburetterexchange.co.uk

The host for the old one is shutting at the end of the month, so it will stop working.

Thanks
Dave & Dom

That is not a carrier carb, or at least not the one used for the British Universal Carriers. I can check the proper model designation if anyone wants it.
