Spring perch

Has anyone seen what appears to be spring perches on the top side of UC rear axles? I unfortunately did not take any photo's. Noticed this on a cut up Mk I.

They are quite common on the earlier mk1 carriers. I believe mine has them.

Thanks Rob. First time I have noticed them on a carrier.

The axle is a std Ford truck axle of the era, so Carriers depending on their place of origin had either the spring perches or the bolt mounts for the torque tube. The British trucks had the torque tube (enclosed prop shaft) set up. I'll assume that the Canadians were only building trucks with open drive. My Bren made in NewZealand usedaxles supplied from the USA and were from enclosed driveshaft trucks so had the same two bolt hole mounts (for the radius arms) like the British axles.
