New Weapons System

I know that the Canadian Army trialed new weapons systems in the 1960s and that some of these were Canadian designs. I am not familiar with this weapons system, does anyone know what it was? Was it ever adapted?

Looks more like a shaker for the Bingo balls. As a weapon I would suggest toilet paper tubes or golf balls.

Ahh yes, the Mk 18.25 multiple barrel doughnut gun (platoon weapon) mass feeding for the use of.

This early wooden pattern room mock up clearly shows the novel feature of the invisible doughnut being loaded by Sgt Horton and the weapon is being operated by Sgt D Dunkin.

The wooden carriage is an economy measure and an early attempt at being eco conscious and responsible with natural resources.

The invisible feature of the doughnut was part of the cold war era special weapons program to weigh the Russians down by spreading tantalising morsels of food across the battlefield with overly pungent aromas but without being seen thereby causing the enemy to dismount and spend a lot of useless time hunting for the food.

Eventual trials led to bad things as the troops conducting the trials ate too many of the doughnuts. There was however a more sane off shoot of this program that led to the development of the Mk19 grenade launcher.

Thats my best shot

A heavy duty dispersant with air freshener is needed.

Updated Production of Christmas Production

Hi Ed

Looks to me to be an effort to update the March of Toy Soldiers in the Nut Cracker Suite.

Cheers Phil

There are some things no soldier should ever be ordered to do. Shades of a latte salute.

The barrel is a little small for donuts but this could be a good delivery system for timbits. Hmmmmm.

It looks like NCOs were qualified on this system.

Bruce,

I was not going to venture too deep in the the intricacies of doughnuts as our foreign member might not understand such technical words as "Timbits".

Many thanks for the offer of the air freshner Lynn, its not needed. I come by this talent naturally I am told
