Canadian paratroop rifle valise?

Hi all,
I'm hoping for an identification of a couple of rifle cases I acquired recently. I've posted this elsewhere without luck, so I think these might be uncommon items.

My thoughts so far - UK/Commonwealth rifle valise design for a No 4 Lee Enfield, but using materials, heavy canvas over thick grey felt, and US parachute fittings normally seen on the US Griswold rifle bags.

This was acquired in Edmonton, Canada, which leads me to believe they might be post-war Canadian Mobile Strike Force items from the late 40s or 50s.

I'm hoping a forum member has the specialist knowledge to ID these things.
Cheers,
D

The WWII rifle valise measures out at 44" by 8". The Bren LMG valise is 48" by 9" and both are rather crude compared to what you have if that helps any

Thanks James,
The size perfectly matches the British rifle valise.
