That is a beauty. Modernized with air rubber tyres. Originally they had wooden wheels. Of a later batch 4 were in 1939 placed under embargo and given to Finland and in 1940 16 were pressed into service with the Swedish Army as m/40 A (A = Argentina). The same type was also exported to Siam (Thailand). |

On most other Bofors guns there is a beam or arm attached to each trail leg. The arm would be folded out at transportation, to prevent the gun from getting stuck on trees and other obstacles. (I have already noticed the lack of this arm on drawings with Spanish text, but it was nice to actually see it on a photo.) What would be the correct term in English for such a device? |
