Excavated WWII boxes in Holland

5 Attachment(s)
I have a question.
A good acquaintance of mine dug up two steel boxes during his work, he is a professional ammunition and bomb reamer at a company. These boxes have different inscriptions.
Dimensions: 20x15 inch
height 18 inch

Is there anyone who can tell me what these boxes are, what they were used for and what unit they were used with?
If someone has a clear image…… please!

Thanks in advance!

Colloquially called a Haybox or Hay Box. Used to finish cooking and bring forward hot food to the troops. Used by the British army (and I suspect Canadian too?)

Here is a link to a post in an older thread where I brought a couple to another MLU member a few years back. There is a clear photo of some Cdn made examples.
