CMP Pictures
Hey All
I am looking for any pictures of what a Cable Layer might look like. My C15 model plate shows it was a CABL-2 and my manual says that there was a 15CWT Cable Layer, so it would be nice to see what one looked like so that I can restore it to the original, or as close to as possible. Thanks |
The cable 2 used a 2C1 box the same as the GS box on a cab 13 15 cwt truck. I have a few pics of the cable 1 on cab 11s but none of the cable 2. They carried rolls of cable and a device for rolling out the cable.

Thanks
Hey Cletrack
Thank you very much for that info, if you have a picture that would be great, now I know where to go when I am ready. When I got my truck it was just a cab and chasis as I am sure a lot of others have experienced. I look forward to having it ready for the Alcan Trip in 2012. :D Gary |
Cmp
So does anyone have pictures or a link to photo of a CMP with the cable laying bits on it?

Gary,
The first pic is the 2C1 style box you need unless the truck is early 1942. The early 1942s used the 2B1. The second pic is a 1940 Cable 1 operating in England. I should have a few more cable layer pics if I can only find them. |

Hey Cletrak
Thanks for those pictures, if June 5 1942 is early then I will need to build the 2B1, I suspect that it is the 2C1 I will need to build or find if possible. I do appreciate you posting those for me, I thought that there would have been some special configuration for the cable layer, however I am glad that it uses the standard 2C1 body. Gary |
