This is a mystery truck on another forum. Believed to be Holland around the 1930 period. What make of truck?

Hmm, that’s a tough nut to crack…

Here’s a list of all Dutch car brands: https://nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lijs...dse_automerken

Oh Goodie, goodie....a challenge :yappy:

I don't have any idea on the car brand....but it does indeed show a Dutch "provincie kenteken"......from 1906-1950 Netherlands had licence plates based on region. "H" was Zuid-Holland. "57026" would indicate that the plate was released in 1927.
The National Archives hold lists with these licence plates, but you will have to make an appointment to have a look in the actual archive.

Pretty sure not Hupmobile. There are many similar scripts.

This is causing a great deal of interest and many guesses on the Historic Commercial Vehicle site. Surely SOMEONE can hit the jackpot as it is almost readable?

Lang,

Was this mystery ever solved? I had another go last night, but the only thing I got was a lack of sleep..... :D

I posted Lang’s photos on a forum and www.conam.info replied it could be a Republic 1-1/2 ton truck from approx. 1927/1928.
The provincial licence number was issued on 23 March 1927 to Wilhelmus Cornelis van den IJssel from the town Berkel en Rodenrijs.

But the emblem doesn’t seem to match: http://www.americanautoemblems.com/2...lic-truck.html

Studebaker

I am sure the truck is a Studebaker. I couldn’t find a clear picture of a Studebaker truck, but I did find a Studebaker car. If you compare the detail around the hole for the starting handle they look identical. The picture is from

The radiator script is from

Hanno, excellent to see the exact name and date linked to the licence plate! There is a transport firm called "Van den IJssel" in Berkel en Rodenrijs still in business today.....has to be one and the same, right?

Paul, I think you are right......a Studebaker. Quite funny.....Two weeks ago my aunt asked me to identify a car in a family picture.....we found it to be a 1922/23 Studebaker...........and then I had another look at this thread to see if I could identify the one in Lang's picture.......it's beyond me that I didn't look into Studebaker for this one as well!!!
